Frequently I receive a catalog from a company called CB2. They are a branch of Crate & Barrel catering to those who live in large open spaces such as industrial lofts.
I love their stuff. I love looking through the pages and imagining their pieces in my own space. Unfortunately, their items are not cheap and I already have a loft full of "stuff"
But I did see a duvet cover once that I loved. It was tie dyed and looked like splashes of sunshine across the bed. And being the creative person I am, I decided to try it out for myself.
I bought Rit Dye. I mixed up the solutions in tubs. Rubber bands and king size flat sheets in hand, I scrunched, wrapped and squirted. Here is what we ended up with.
I didn't get the star-burst quite centered but it works. The shams were a different material and took the dye differently, much richer.
Not bad for a first try at a dyed duvet. I'd do it again.
What have you been trying?
Yours in Creativity!
That looks awesome! How did you get the pale yellow as well as the dark yellow? Did you die in two different colours? I would love to do something just like this!
